That said, getting back to the train station was not pleasant. Uber does not know the Brooklands Museum car park. (The front desk of the museum advised that I must indicate the car park specifically as a pickup location.) Two Uber drivers canceled, at my expense, because they could not find me. (And by this time, I was out on the road, in the rain, because the property shut the gate.) I ended up walking to the Mercedes dealership for an Uber. The Mercedes receptionist advised that unless the Uber driver was local, it was unlikely that they'd be at all familiar with the Brooklands commercial area. An Uber driver was readily available from the Mercedes dealership.
FYI for future visitors.
I'm only about 40 mins drive away from it and we thought the signage to it was, ahem, found wanting. I know it doesn't help you but for people in a similar situation in the future, then calling a local minicab firm is probably the safest way.
Did you get to sit in the Harrier jump jet?
