Sorry, should have explained. The BF agent is saying that the eGate is giving them additional info on why the passport wouldn't scan/admit access, whereas I think it's just a reason for them to have lower staffing levels on the booths. My thought was to check that this exchange of info is taking place by checking if they actually know which gate I was at when they do the manual check.
