The problem is this flight doesn't seem to have any partner business award space left. Can I use this involuntary change to ask the AC agent to rebook me on that AUH-PKX flight? Thanks!
I'm going to go with no, they won't open award space or buy you a cash ticket. They'd be willing to waive change fees though - pick one of the following reasons:
1) You're trying to change your destination city. AC required sister cities or the cities to be 200 miles apart for cash tickets (under the published travel agency policies with other rules as well). PKX and PVG are 650 miles apart, so it's likely a no-go under normal circumstances.
2) You're somehow trying to convince an agent that because your flight leaves 3 hours earlier that you need a flight to a different city, 2 days later.
3) It's not AC so it's a lot harder to get you rebooked, EVEN IF you found an agent who might consider your request.
