Hi everyone, I booked an EY award ticket in J for AUH-PVG in April. Just got notified today that the departure time was changed from 01:20 to 21:45 the previous day. Since it's a date change + more than three hours, what options do I have? I've been eyeing a different EY flight two days later for AUH-PKX, so same destination country but a different city. The problem is this flight doesn't seem to have any partner business award space left. Can I use this involuntary change to ask the AC agent to rebook me on that AUH-PKX flight? Thanks!
I'd wait for someone to give a better reply than mine, because I'm not really sure how it works these days.
But anyways, pre-COVID with involuntary changes like yours, we were able to rebook with different dates, and the entire routing too, not just that segment. However, last summer the agent said the new flights would have to be on the same date. I didn't push back because I wanted to keep the dates, and the agent found me an alternate routing that I didn't mind (on LX).
I'll watch for a better reply from someone more familiar and expert.
