Essentially im renting for 2 weeks on a roadtrip up to Yellowstone and back via Grand Canyon and Moab etc, hence chose a SUV but would i need it?

I have the option of collecting at NYNY Hotel, would it be better to get from the airport instead? Is there a good day to pick up, i could on either Thurs, friday or sunday early afternoon.

I have Avis Preferred but no loyalty etc.
