Partner STE and companion on same reservation have access to Preferred (but not Comfort+) seats on DL flights as longs as they are not on a Basic Economy fare (DL does not grant any exceptions for elites on BE fares other than for checked luggage). Priority check-in/security/boarding require partner STE+ status, not just STE.
