So with enough pestering and questions to the hotel management, I got a tour of the building while they are finishing up. I promised not to post any pictures of the interior that I took until they can do professional photos and marketing so I will refrain from that.

The building is absolutely beautiful inside and honestly it could command the Marriott Marquis branding if it was bigger even though I "think" it might be the biggest hotel in the city once it opens.

I think it will be by far the best hotel in the city. Rogner just a couple hundred meters away has a better outdoor area with a pool but that might be the only amenity that any other hotel has that this one doesn't. Plaza, about 10min walk away is the only other one that could compete on room amenities but I think the Marriott rooms are/will be better. The wild card will be the renovations on the old Sheraton across the street from the Marriott and now named the MAK (which might be Hyatt owned?) but those are a ways out from completion.

Some highlights:
  • Because of the shape of the building, there will be several unique layouts depending on room type but they were all extremely spacious by European and Albanian standards regardless of the type we saw. Plus they all were laid out to maximize as much natural light from the floor to ceiling windows that every room will have.
  • A large portion of the rooms will have sight lines directly into the stadium so I'm sure there will be some good photos of some football matches or concerts or other events on here whenever they'll happen
  • The bathrooms all have a bidet and the showers all head an adjustable and removable shower head along with a rain shower head on the ceiling.
  • The M Club is one of the largest ones I have ever seen, it just kept going and going and going.
  • The downstairs restaurant will have extensive outdoor space and the hotel/lobby bar is shaping up to be fantastic.
  • The gym has a sauna and a separate steam room with plenty of machines, there is a yoga/exercise class area as well and though I didn't see any freeweights, not all the equipment was there yet

Really excited to have a stay at the hotel once it opens. They just need to finish training and pass inspections but the opening is fast approaching!
