One thing to watch is that if your passport names and "medical" names are different, so Mrs Jones attends the GP as Ms Smith, then one may end up with things like medical certificates for fitness to fly (pregnancy) and vaccination certificates in a different name to the passport and/or ticket - which causes (resolveable) problems of its own.
