A lot of women in the UK keep their name after marriage as well. My wife kept hers and it never even crossed my mind that she would take my last name. The entire concept seems so quaintly 1950s.
I hate to break it to you, but marriage itself is an even more "old fashioned" concept when the same can be accomplished with a civil union. I find the adherence to dressing in costume and mimicking ceremony from the days of purchasing brides quaint as well.
