I think it's interesting you've found Comfort Plus to be significantly superior to AA's MCE. You get free drinks on AA MCE as well, and I don't really have an issue grabbing those seats at booking, and there's no "upgrade" into a middle seat like there can be on Delta.

I personally don't see much difference between the two when I've flown them.
