It's around $100. I believe the whole statement period is charged interest, not just one day, but this is the first time so I am unfamiliar with the detailed calculation. ~24% APR on a ~$4000+ balance hits you for the price of a decent dinner

I am leaning towards calling in soon after all the replies. I did think it was a bit odd to not waive the interest in addition to the fee. The extra kick in the balls is that the points I accrued during that statement are in "purgatory" and AMEX wants a $35 fee to reinstate. Luckily I got the 90k signup without issue, I was worried about that.
