Open PN is getting rarer and rarer and one route/example is the exception not the norm. Like (I presume) the vast majority of GS, most of my international flights are OPM in business class. If there’s no benefit in being able to upgrade my personal domestic flights then why bother showing loyalty? What benefit am I getting? The privilege of joining the pre board scrum?
last year I spent $50K of OPM on other airlines and simply had a better experience in the front with no status than as a GS on United…
I was so excited to initially get GS and now I really couldn’t care less. The game has changed (credit cards, lower J fares), and the way I play it is changing also.
The loyalists won’t care, but when someone that flew United exclusively for 10+ years starts flying other airlines and having a better experience, something is very wrong… times change, I guess, and so have I
