I’m currently in love with Emmett’s, on MacDougal Street in Soho. It has what I’ll describe as an upscale dive bar atmosphere, and has a Chicago influence, which means Chicago deep dish pizza — which doesn’t interest me — but also thin crust tavern style pizza, which I love. They also serve good and authentic Chicago-style hot dogs, which are hard to find in NYC. They have other stuff on the menu, but I just go for the thin crust tavern style pizza and beer (I’m an IPA guy, and they have good options), and occasionally a Chicago dog, and it makes me very happy.
