I have rented from Avis in Europe but always Used Dollar in the US before but their prices are crazy high and they screwed me last time with extra fees.

Opted for Avis as cheapest but then saw the Budget links and read some bad reviews on them.

Is Alamo ok, i hear they share with National and Enterprise?
