My wife and I dined at the Chef's Table at Belcanto in Lisbon last November.
The main restaurant dining room was serene and hushed during lunch service.
By contrast, the Chef's Table, set in the kitchen, was in a space bustling with activity. This was a single U-shaped table -- that day there were just two couples dining there.
This was an excellent tasting menu, available only at the Chef's Table, which had a dedicated staff member taking care of diners there.
Highlights from lunch included one of Jose Avillez's signatures, "Garden of the Goose that Laid the Golden Eggs"...
...and crispy suckling pig...
A very memorable meal. I've never dined at the regular tables in the Belcanto dining room, so I can't compare the Chef's Table experience there with the regular menu, but I would definitely recommend the Chef's Table for it's extensive tasting menu which includes favourites from Belcanto's menu over the years.
