It is. Same app. After having hell with the TSA scanner on my first -and only- attempt at using the app, I decided to stick with the traditional methods. I just wish that the A Pre checkpoint would pick one verification method and stick with it. (boarding-pass-scan-and-ID-inspection versus ID-scan)
