It was in it's originally shipping packaging so I wasn't worried about damage (if UPS can handle it as-is, I'm sure AC can handle it if it's double boxed).
Shippers actually have to go through a mountain of paperwork to get device-specific preapproval to ship anything with a lithium ion battery via UPS — and any device >5kg containing a lithium battery is restricted to cargo aircraft.
