Without looking, are the LAX and SFO flights both 7x for the northern summer? Pre-pandemic UA opted for 3X weekly LAX-SYD and 4X weekly IAH-SYD. The idea was to enable one stop connections from smaller eastern US locations, locations without a nonstop to SFO or LAX, while most places with nonstops to LAX also have nonstops to SFO.
