This story made NBC nightly news tonight. Of course they showed a A320 not the 777 for AA

They showed what looked like a 762 for DL.
I took this AA flight in December. I remember the long taxi after pushing back at T8. I remember saying to myself I feel like I'm driving around the perimeter road of a large shopping mall. lol

A hard slam on the brakes and a plane heavy with fuel at the time- lots of heat generated and it’s probably a good idea at that point to let them cool off and then do a tech inspection for damage before returning the plane to service. And you also don’t want pilots who are probably feeling a little shaky at the point immediately taking off either.
I’m not sure why the AA plane went merrily along.
Maybe I missed it but do we know what speed the Delta jet was going just before it slammed on the brakes?
