You'd still have comp Plat status for the 3 month challenge period. Also, if you at least meet the Gold challenge requirements (12,500 MQMs and $2000 MQDs) during 3 month period, they will at least give you that beyond the 3 month period (without having to meet the full Gold requirements). I suspect quite a few people will be using Covid as a life event responsible for limited travel when submitting requests. I have no idea if they are willing to accept it as a reason at this point, but it's worth a try.
