NJ Transit 62 may be the quicker (and cheaper) way

For those coming from Manhattan or connecting through Newark, it may be faster to take NJ Transit's bus route 62 from downtown Newark to Terminal A.

Published running times from Newark Penn Station is approximately 22-28 minutes. Fare is $1.60 or 75 cents for those age 62 and over. AirTrain Newark fare is $8.00. No senior discounts.

Bus route 62 provides a one seat ride compared to AirTrain Newark which requires a transfer to a shuttle bus or healthy all-season, mostly climate controlled walk from the P2 Station.

For those headed to new Terminal A from points south--such as from Trenton or Princeton--it may be faster to take NJ Transit rail to Elizabeth Station, then transfer to bus route 62 as opposed to traveling further north to the Rail Link Station and backtracking to new Terminal A. Published journey times from Elizabeth Station to new Terminal A are approximately 16 or so minutes.
