The 4 flight requirement was quite clearly mentioned in the old Ts and Cs ( which should still apply to you since you would be renewing under the old rules I assume ) . If it's just 1 flight short, why not just take a domestic qualifying flight to meet the criteria?

With 705 credits worth of flying , would she have reached the 50,000 mile requirement for qualifying for Platinum on AA anyway?

Given that the rules said 4 flights on BA were needed, I don't see the issue tbh. If your loyalty is to another airline why should BA give you status?
