Interesting! The internet seems to posit that the Lai Lai Shangri-La opened in 1981 and two years later management (and branding) turned over to Sheraton:
- Newspaper ad for the Lai Lai Shangri-La
- Apparently you can buy original S&P shakers from the Lai Lai Shangri-La

I'm not sure if it was just the "Lai Lai Hotel" prior to 1981.
