My spouse and I each earn a Chase/BA 2-4-1 companion voucher each year.

For 2022, our companion vouchers appeared in both accounts on December 1, 2022, with a two-year expiration.

OK, that is the normal result. What isn’t normal is that today I noticed that both accounts received an additional voucher (with a unique voucher number) on January 2, 2023, expiring January 2, 2025.

I have no explanation for this. I made a dummy booking, and the unexplained vouchers appear to be redeemable.

Not to look a gift horse in the mouth, I am wondering if I can count on these vouchers for future travel planning.

Anyone else see a phantom voucher? Anyone care to speculate as to the origin?
