Mike28, I don't think I'm confused, so much as puzzled by the disconnect between what Alaska does and what the DOT regs seem to require them to do.
Reservation confirmations only contain flight info, not baggage info, those are not e-tickets.
The DOT regs set out requirements for "all e-ticket confirmations." Are you saying that when a passenger buys an eticket from Alaska, the email Alaska sends is not an "e-ticket confirmation" within the meaning of the reg? That seems like a tough position for Alaska to take.
Baggage fee waiver depend son your AS or OW elite or BofA credit card status at the time you travel, not at the time you book.
No doubt that's Alaska's intention and practice. But how can they square that with the reg? They are required to put the exact baggage price into email, for first and second bag. That is locked down at the moment they send the email.
