I'm having trouble selecting a seat. It was an award ticket with UA miles but the ticket is confirmed and I see the res. on Thai site. Tried to message on Twitter but there isnt an option to message them. I cant seem to find an 800 number for Thai. I can try United I guess but it didnt let me select a seat for this flight. It did however allow it for the SQ flight that is on the same res.

THAI’s IT, like quite a few other airlines, has ‘quirks’ and especially awards issued by other programs. Remember, your tix is issued by UA, not TG.
First, check the e-ticket has actually be issued. This the 13 digit number, and not the 6 alphanumeric booking reference (aka locator or PNR). UA e-tix start with 016-xxxxxxxxxx.
It is quite common (esp when airlines are very busy) for a PNR to be issued, but for ticketing to occur at a later date - months later in some cases.
Assuming the e-tix has been issued, then try downloading THAI’s app and adding the booking.
The scroll down and select ‘Services’, the ‘Additional Services’, then ‘Seat Select’. You must then go through the save screens or the allocations wont’t stick.
