We booked on points for the same reason.

TBH, I have only stayed in Exec, Terrace and the Hyde Park Suites.

The standard rooms are much smaller and I was give one on the side looking onto the Conservatory with a half window. I asked for a room that was on Elizabeth St with full windows which made a huge difference but the noise from the corridor was very loud.

Perhaps I just have fonder memories?
