I think the OP's question here is whether it would be cheaper to PURCHASE the FB miles for cash (possibly with a promo) and do a mileage upgrade, than to PURCHASE the OLCI upgrade for cash. There is no value to assess, but of course the OLCI upgrade price is somewhat unknown (one could possibly get a few data points from the upgrade threads here). I have no idea how many miles are required for the upgrade as I'm not very familiar with FB, but hopefully someone knows the answer to that.
