I am late posting this but I did a 3 night stay here in mid-November, so here's a few thoughts:

First off it is not a particularly large resort - the two tower buildings are each about 30 rooms, and there's maybe another 50 rooms spread over various 'villa' buildings, though I don't think all of them are currently available for use due to proximity to the construction for some of them. In any case there is currently only one room category so no upgrades to speak of, but the room itself is a decent size, bed is comfortable, good sized balcony, and nice bathroom with huge shower. As a platinum we were given a room on a high floor of tower B, which made for great views over the jungle to the coast.

All of the food we had was excellent. The main restaurant had a very nice buffet spread for breakfast, including a made to order omelet station. We also had dinner there 2 of the three nights and it was a Mexican-focused a la carte menu both nights. We did the other dinner at the teppanyaki restaurant and had no issue getting a reservation when we checked in. We definitely had enough variety over 3 nights, but if you were spending a week here it would probably get repetitive. Once construction is complete and the hotel gets busier, they'd really benefit from having another dinner option. Lunch is at either the pool bar or the beach bar and both were good with a variety of Mexican and American options.

The shuttle to the beach was only running 3x daily at 11am, 1pm, and 3pm, returning at 1:15, 3:15, or 5:45. They used a 14 passenger van and both days we went for the 11am there were more than 14 people, but they just did two back to back trips so those on the 2nd trip had to wait around the lobby for 20 mins or so. When the hotel is busier I'd think they'll have to either increase the frequency of the shuttle, or get a bigger vehicle. The beach itself is nice - lots of lounge chairs and umbrellas, and great service. The water directly in front of the beach club gets a bit rocky, but if you go about 50 meters to the left (when facing the water) it's sand as far out as we could touch the bottom. Overall definitely a nicer beach for both relaxing and swimming than in PVR.

On the day we left we requested and received a 3pm late checkout, and spent that day around the pools. Up top by the tower rooms is the main infinity pool, plus a smaller pool, and the pool bar. There is also a small 'natural' pool down closer to the restaurants - no bar here but they do keep a large bucket of cervezas, sodas, water, etc on ice for self service.

As for the construction, it is still ongoing and a staff member told us they were aiming for a late March 2023 opening of the water park. It appears to have a couple of slides, kids splash pad area, lazy river, and a number of small pools leading up the hill. There is also a 3rd tower building under construction at the top of the waterpark, similar in size to the existing two towers.

While the resort is in a beautiful setting, the terrain is something to keep in mind - it's about a 10 min walk up some fairly steep hills from the lobby to the tower rooms. Staff are always available to shuttle you up and down in golf carts, but we actually enjoyed the walk (it helped burn off some calories from all the eating and drinking!). Walking or jogging around the grounds in the morning before breakfast was also a great way to workout so we just did that rather than use the gym, but the gym did look fairly decent for those that prefer that.

Overall, it's a nice place to relax by the pool or beach for a few days, but definitely don't come here for the nightlife (there isn't any). We paired 3 nights here with 3 nights in PVR and wouldn't hesitate to split a trip like that again - a few days here to relax at the beach, followed by a few in PVR for the food and the action.
