I just qualified for the business card Welcome Offer (SUB) and found 100K points deposited in my account a few days ago. But yesterday I saw the 100K points had been removed from my account. I figured this must be a glitch of some kind and figured they'd reappear in a day or two. However, this morning I received an email from Amex saying that I did not meet the offer terms and goes on to quote the T&Cs of the offer. After reading this email, I went back to check my account and found that the 100K points have been redeposited. I know that I did spend $4,000 in 3 months and I did not buy any gift cards or do any of the things prohibited by the T&Cs. Also, I'm not a card churner. I now have my points back but I received no email from Amex telling me they had made a mistake, so I'm concerned that they might just take them away again. OTOH, I'm concerned if I call them they won't tell me exactly why the points were taken away and may say that I shouldn't have received my points back. Does anyone have any experience with this and do you think it's worth calling Amex about this, even though I have my points back?
