The fuel surcharge is going ... when?

According to BBC website, Brent crude is now at 37.56 USD per barrel. That is 19.46 GBP using today's exchange rate of 1.93.

When BA increased the fuel surcharge (on 8 Oct 2004), crude was over USD 53 a barrel. That is GBP 29.78 per barrel using the FX rate at that time (from oanda.com) of 1.78

So, in GBP terms, the price of fuel has now fallen by over GBP 10 a barrel, that is over 34%, since the fuel surcharge was increased.

Even in naked USD terms, the price has fallen by over USD 15 a barrel. That is over 29%.

So why on earth do BA still have the fuel surcharge in place? Surely this is not part of rip-off Britain is it?

Edited to add: This is not only a direct attack on BA or rip-off Britain, many other airlines in other countries around the world still have the surcharge. But I believe BA were one of the first to introduce/increase this type of charge.
