GVR Bill,

Is the night you're trying to book before or after the expiration date of your FNA? It's not just a matter of using an FNA to make a reservation before the FNA expires. The night of the stay must be before the FNA expires.

Is the night you're trying to book labeled as "Redemption" or as "Redemption with Points Upgrade"? If it's the latter, then you cannot use an FNA, even if your FNA is sufficient to cover all the points. That's the system working as designed. FNAs can only be applied to base "Redemptions," not to ones that involve a Points Upgrade.

If you're trying to book a Redemption that exceeds the value of the FNA, is your points balance sufficient to pay the difference (up to 15,000 points) immediately? You cannot apply an SNA to a Marriott Bonvoy Points Advance reservation until you have enough points to lock it in as an actual reservation.

Have you tried the website and the app? I've had no trouble applying an FNA to a reservation using the website.

If there are no circumstances that should prevent you from applying the FNA, call the reservation phone number and talk to a human.

In any case, please return to this thread and let us know how it worked out.
