AA (to the best of my memory) was the first one to offer Channel 11 (ATC radio). The rumor was that it was removed at the request of the pilot's union. When I complained to AA (I listened on *every* flight - I still miss it) I was given the official response that it was passenger requests for more music channels. (That was a clear lie IMHO - whereas many FC passengers listened to the ATC, the number of people listened to anything on headsets vastly declined after they got rid of the ATC channel, from my personal observation).
