There was an economy award flight last year, SIN-MEL IIRC, that I booked using my Virgin Australia Velocity points, and wasn't available on Krisflyer. And as a Supplementary Solitaire card holder - I get access to better (commerical M class) inventory when redeeming in economy using KF miles. Go figure.
