Stay Report 1/9 to 1/10
Location: The hotel is located at the confluence of I-4 and FL-435 (Kirkman Rd.) just off the Florida Turnpike. It is technically across from Universal and you can walk there in about 20 minutes. Like most parts of Orlando the area around the hotel consists of strip malls, chain restaurants, bars, gas stations and more hotels. MCO is about a 20 minute drive with no traffic. Do note that getting on I-4 East from the hotel is a pain that involves a lot of turns.
Hotel: While the exterior still looks like a typical Amerisuites convert property the interior has been recently renovated and is lovely. The bar and seating areas around the front desk are really attractive looking now with lots of natural light. There's a small outdoor pool along with a gym that are currently closed. There's also no business center. However, guests are able to use all of those amenities at the next door Hyatt House. Lastly there's a large, free parking lot. Something not guaranteed in Orlando.
Check In: A very friendly and helpful agent, as was everyone I dealt with here mind you, checked me in, offered me my 4 PM checkout and told me to take two bottled waters
Room: My only complaint was I was given an accessible room on the first floor. Soundproofing wasn't great and when I was working out of the room during the day I could see and certainly hear the landscapers outside all morning. I don't know if the hotel was full but putting a Globalist with high floor as their preference on 1 was annoying. Anyway back to the good, the room was renovated too which meant it looked good and the condition of everything was way better than the average HP while still maintaining a large layout.
Breakfast: They had scrambled eggs, sausage links, potatoes and French Toast sticks plus the usual cold items.
Overall a very good hotel. I'd gladly be back.
