Flight Credit Transfer - Question
Hello -
I had an extended LUV voucher ($447) that was going to expire in early April. My family of four is flying in late April. I bought and cancelled a Wanna Get Away Plus flight valued at just over that amount, which meant the surplus funds will be put back on my credit card and the entire balance of the LUV voucher now exists as a flight credit.
It looks like I goofed in that 1) I can now only use the funds to purchase my own ticket and 2) I can transfer what remains (after my ticket is purchased) to my husband, but it cannot be transferred to then purchase tickets for our kids (and he cannot buy all three of them himself with the credit).
Is there any way to get those funds back into my control for use for our kids? For instance...
- There is $307 on the flight credit.
- He buys his $105 ticket, so $202 of the flight credit remains
- He buys a $202 Wanna Get Away Plus ticket and cancels it
- He now has a $202 flight credit
Is the $202 flight credit then transferrable to one of our kids? Or are we stuck buying their tickets out of pocket because the system knows the origin of those funds and locks them from transfer?
