This April, I have an upcoming trip all paid for with miles but taxes paid with the CSR.

AA: DSM>PHX>LAX. 1 hour layover in PHX. Arrive in LAX at 11:30AM.

Then, on a separate ticket:

TN: LAX>PPT. Depart LAX 2:30PM.

I have two questions:

1. If we are delayed on the AA DSM>LAX route, would there be coverage if we missed our separate TN outbound? What coverage would apply there?
2. If our bags miss our connection in PHX with that short layover, would we have coverage for no having bags during our 6 night stay in PPT? If the bags don't make LAX with us, they would be left there until we returned 6 days later, on the reverse routing.
