This is my mistake - I'm mixing up my Amex and Chase coverage.

On the eclaimsline / Allianz form with Chase it uses the language "Reimbursement from Carrier:" on the form where you specify any incurred expenses, where it does indeed look like you only have to show money received to offset additional delay expenses.

On the Amex form with AIG there is an additional request for
"Also include details of expected or received refunds / credits." There have been a few posts on reddit that those refunds are used as part of the total benefit calculation.
