Traditionally December invites have been GS renewals and first time invites were always in January. Not sure how that relates to this year, which appears to be a little different with the January 4-5-6 status changes (not sure they received official invites yet?) and the normal January 13th date.
My initial invitation to GS came in December 2018, as did my renewal for 2019. This year I was in the January batch of invitations. Go figure!
