Not at all,,,,,I prefer to fly FC and generalyl pay (when reasonable) or use miles (when good value like $.02 or greater). of course I can book economy with miles and hope for an upgrade, but I value booking the front of the plane and non stop and try to get decent value, BUT noticed that since 2022 prices for first class via cash is very expensive and increasing.

Then I look at the value proposition -- how much are paid tickets and how much are award tickets to determine whether I will indeed fly it, which airline, and whether I will redeem miles for it. It's not like I have so many miles to burn, I will book tickets just because they're available for redemption. Do people really do that?
I follow the same process and you...just makes sense to me.
