Bump

I stayed at the Sheraton Parsippany on Saturday night for a holiday party. I found the hotel to be excellent both in terms of service and appearance.

The room I was given was and SPG room situated at an angle point between two wings of the building and was rather large. Looking at the floorplan behind the door, it appeared that even the standard rooms were spacious and the corner rooms appeared to be even bigger than the room I had. I couldn't complain about not getting a corner room because I didn't reserve my room until Friday afternoon and the hotel was nearly sold out that evening. The hotel is probably around fifteen years old and has been maintained very well. I've stayed at two former Tara hotels in Massachusetts, and they were nowhere near the level of this hotel. The former Tara's in Mass were older, darker, in need of refurbishment and had much smaller rooms.

We received two breakfast buffet vouchers for Sunday morning, although they were offered to us after I asked if the Club Lounge would be open in the morning. The buffet was very good, with a wide selection of food.

The only gripe I had was that they have speakers throughout the hallways with music playing. I didn't give it much thought when I got there, but at 7 AM I heard Christmas music and I thought that the alarm in the next room was going off. It turns out it was the PA system in the halls. I called down to the front desk and asked if this was standard operations, because it was loud enough to wake me; even after eight hours of celebrating the holidays. The front desk clerk apologized and actually lowered the volume. I can't imagine that they do this during the week when business travelers are staying there.

But I digress. This property great overall and I would recommend it to anyone travelling to Jersey.
