If you can change your connecting flight I would definitely, as to get through LAX CBP and customs in 2 hours is cutting it fine at the best of times in my experience, but then I tend to come through at busy times. I endeavour not to have a connection from LAX within 3 1/2 hours to be on the safe side.
I'm on the earlier 281 (LHR-LAX) next week, scheduled to arrive at 15:55, with a protected connection onwards to LAS, departing at 18:15. From reading these posts, it would seem I am unlikely to make the connection!
