Hello Decourseyfloors,

The relationship proof is not good The name is not matching.

DECOURSEY/DEANCHARLES MR - passenger
FRANCIS EUGENE DECOURSEY - as per the death certificate
In the obituary, the name is mentioned as FRANK

The airline will not accept obituary notes. They need valid proof ( passport copy of the brothers where they can show the father's name) or the birth certificate.

Kind regards,

As I suspected, the death certificate, my passport front page and the obituary from the hometown newspaper wasn’t enough for either Budget Air and/or Singapore airlines. I’ll check with my State agency that handles birth certificates tomorrow and pay the $35 or $70 for mine and possibly my brothers birth certificates. In the meantime, I replied to them that I wouldn’t be very happy if, because of any fees and penalties, the refund of my ticket is reduced substantially. Not that they are going to tell me the amount in advance.
