I'd pick the side anyday, as the window is private, and the aisle offers direct access. Had the middle pair before as a couple, and didn't like it, both of us adjacent to a stranger, both climbing over feet. If you like sleeping close and sleep easily then the middle is fine, but I wouldn't choose it again.
