Amex Platinum? It offers 5x on flights and Amex travel, and 1x on all other spend. Bonvoy Brilliant offers 6x on Marriott spend, 3x on restaurant/travel, 2x on other spend. IMO, 2x Bonvoy points > 1 MR point (though I know some will disagree).
I don't put restaurant spend on the Brilliant - that is what the Amex Gold or Chase cards are for. I would consider putting "regular" spend on a Brilliant at a rate of over 3x Bonvoy earnings. But I don't think I would spend 60K, so I don't think I will do it.
I redeemed 800K Marriott points last year, all at over 1 cent per point, and I am eager to replenish. The fact that there was no additional devaluation on January 1 has made me look harder at this, as I need more Bonvoy points pretty quickly. The question is - aside from paid stays, what is the best way to earn Marriott points? Brilliant seems to be up there.
