I've never had an issue putting an award on hold with Asia Miles (over the phone, generally 3 day hold). And several partners are now instant, for instance in my experience both U.S. versions of Citi and American Express Membership Rewards transfer instantly.
But the promo offers do not show up instantly). Some of us are waiting for the bonus miles on the last promo.
