Then there's some of the best department stores in the world, Okubo with all its Korean restaurants, Shinjuku Gyoen, the many Michelin-starred restaurants dotting Arakicho, etc. etc. If you think Shinjuku-ku is charmless and soulless, you need to get out of the hotel more.
