Tonight, the escalators to/from the arrivals area B/C were out of order, and so was the elevator.
Means everyone had to climb stairs, including those who are fit to travel but with limitations (mostly elderly and slightly disabled passengers) with their carry on bags.
Of course no engineer to be seen anywhere. Maybe they have 20 hours/week contracts

with work prohibited on Sundays...
AMS is on fast track to become a 3rd world airport.
US airports are by no means fancy places or places to spend more time than absolutely necessary. But basic things work at least.
For more than two years, the walkway/escalator "maintenance" in AMS is going on.
Unlike CDG (where things are noticeably improving) AMS does not even love you....
