Everyone has their own requirements. One of mine is to earn miles that I can use at what we used to reference as “saver” pricing. Skypesos are utterly useless in this regard, which is why I have been sitting on a large balance for years.

WN points being less value (is it 1.3 cents now, or lower?) but at least they can be easily used on WGA fares and essentially doubled in value if used with a CP. that’s not as good as I get using UA,AA for TATL biz class but much better than DL. Of course YMMV and there are several DL experts who find the hidden gems on DL.

now if DL offers better nonstop fares than WN (ie OAK-SLC) then I will suck it up and fly DL. But that’s not the norm.
