Another fantastic stay !!
Just returned from another great stay (Dec 31 - Jan 5) with family and friends. Service was great, hotel was great and we truly enjoyed it.
We booked a Grand Ocean Front Suite for 240k points and $950. Regular rooms were going for around $350 per night plus taxes. We had a 17 and a 10 year old with us so we got a rollaway bed for the 10yr old and the 17yr old slept on the chaise part of the sofa. Both were very comfortable. Having that extra bathroom helped tremendously. We asked them for a case of water bottles(small bottles) and extra coffee pods since there were four of us and we drink lots of water and require our coffee in the mornings which they provided without any issues.
Continental breakfast was provided due to elite status. There is more than enough food in the continental to fill an adult and we usually shared the oats or eggs with our daughter. My son wanted waffles/pancakes/eggs so we got the buffet for him at 50% since he was 10yrs old. Buffet was provided to everyone the first two days of our stay since the hotel was at full capacity and then they switched back to continental. The breakfast staff remembered me from my stay in July and they treated us great.
The pool area was crowded for the first few days and we had issues trying to find chairs in the morning .. but we figured out that if we delay our arrival to the pool area around lunchtime, we were able to get chairs since the families with small children would leave for nap time after lunch. Then the last few days we were able to reserve the chairs around 730, eat breakfast and then come down to stay till the evening. Service at the pool was quick and efficient, the lunch restaurant was pretty good this time around.
We went out for dinners every night outside the hotel and the food at all the restaurants was excellent.
The beach area has been refilled with more sand from my last visit in July. There was almost very little to no sargassum this time around though the ocean was rougher than before.
This time the hotel did not charge the resort fee. I asked about it at check in they said that they ran out of the papers that explained the resort fee so they were not charging it during our stay.
Since I have stayed at this hotel a few times, the door and beach restaurant staff remember me. They always greet me with my last name and most of them know me as the Indian guy who speaks Spanish. It was a nice feeling and my friend were impressed that they remembered my name.
Can’t wait for my next stay sometime next year hopefully !!
